Aklan Crime Incidents

A Russian couple, Victor Scheckin and Shabanova Kaeuwia were billeted at Bonga Villa Resort, Brgy. Manoc Manoc, Boracay, Malay, Aklan.

They reported to the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center (BTAC) the lose of cash and personal effects on Saturday, Feb. 25. They alleged that while they were resting in a vegetation area in front of Angol Point, they fall asleep for a short while. They placed their brown bag beside them. The bag contained: 1. one (1) unit ipod silver color, 2. one (1) Nikkon Camera color black, 3. P1,500 cash, and 4. one Armani sunglasses, clothes and safety deposit box key.

To their dismay, the brown bag was gone when they wake up. In reaction, elements of BTAC led by PO2 Edward O. Bolivar accompanied by the complainants proceeded to the aforementioned place. Investigation from the witness identified three (3) suspects. They are John Ray Francisco y Maming , male, 18 years old, single; Melchor Llacer y Tander, 21 years old, single, a native of Lindero, San Jose, Romblon; and 3. Jessie Tibio y Maming, male, 48 years old and single.

All the three are presently residing in Sitio Cagban, Manoc Manoc, Boracay. During the conduct of hot pursuit operation in Sitio Cagban, Manoc Manoc, the suspects were arrested. Recovered from them were some of the stolen items consisting of one (1) unit color silver apple ipod and one (1) color black Nikkon camera. The items and the suspects are under the custody of BTAC for filing appropriate charges.

Stabbing

In the afternoon of Monday, Feb. 26, a stabbing incident transpired at Brgy. Agbalogo, Makato, Aklan. The victim was Roque Torrifiel y Tacud, 53 years old, married and residence of Agbalogo, Makato.

The suspect was identified as Gualberto Torrifiel y Java, 48 years old, married and also of Agbalogo.

Police investigation reveals that both the suspect and the victim with other companions were having a drinking spree in the house of Jose Torrifiel. A heated discussion took place between them which led to a commotion. The suspect drew a knife and stabbed Roque Torrifiel y Tacud several times.

The victim suffered wounds in his abdomen and other parts of the body. He was brought to the DRSTMH for medical treatment.

The suspect Gualberto Torrifiel y Java voluntarily surrendered to the Makato PNP. The incident happened because of drunkenness.

Traffic Accident

In San Jose St., Poblacion, Malinao, Aklan, a passenger mini bus with plate No. FVN – 541 serving Daja, Banga – Kalibo route accidentally crashed at the right portion of the road due to faulty brake system according to its driver. The mini bus was being driven by Roy Nerviol y delos Reyes, 28 years old, married of Bakyang, Madalag, Aklan.

Some 12 passengers suffered multiple physical injuries. They were brought to the DRSTMH for hospitalization.

The driver, Nerviol y Dela Cruz and the mini bus are with the Malinao Municipal Police Station with PO2 Josefino Baldomero, the officer on case.

Illegal Drugs

Violation of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act was filed against Darwin Hamin y Reyes thru inquest proceedings in the office of Provincial Prosecutor, Kalibo, Aklan. Darwin Hamin was turned over to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Nalook, Kalibo, Aklan on Feb. 27, 2012. The case is docketed under I.S. No. INQ – 12 B – 00079.

45MK IV

Ms. Rechelle An Luna y Cuyo, 20 years old, female, single and working as secretary of Sea Park Diving was arrested by Provincial Intelligence Branch Operative led by PSINSP Lory Tarrazona and Kalibo Police Station led by SPO3 Reynaldo Macario last week.

Rechelle An Luna was entrapped selling firearm at Capitol Site, Kalibo, Aklan. One (1) unit cal 45 MK IV series 80 with one (1) magazine inserted loaded with seven cartridges and one (1) chamber load were confiscated from her custody. These items confiscated were placed in a beach small bag. Luna has no license to possess those items report said.

In the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 26, a certain Rodel Dela Cruz was observed heavily drunk, boxed his live in partner Remilita Arellano hitting several parts of her body. Rolita Domingo was able to parry the wood struck her and ran away to escape. However, Rodel Dela Cruz hit her at the back of her body.

An inquest case was filed against Rodel Dela Cruz for his alleged violation of Batas Pambansa Bilang 6. A P2,000 bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty. /MP
