NVC Awards Outstanding Students

The Northwestern Visayan Colleges, Kalibo, Aklan held its Awards and Recognition Night for Outstanding Student Organizations Thursday evening, March 22. It was held in the Carmen Salas Quimpo Gym in Estancia, Kalibo.

NVC President, Atty. Allen S. Quimpo with executive dean Lillian Q. Tirol awarded both cash and Plaques of Appreciation to the eight students organizations. The eight categories each received the awards are:

1. Most Outstanding In Leadership Training Project – English Club;
2. Most Outstanding Organization In Event Management – Mathematics Club;
3. Most Outstanding Organization In Ways and Means – BSEED Department;
4. Best Environment Friendly Organization – Environmental Club (High School);
5. Best Artistic Organization – NVC Artist Circle;
6. Most Outstanding In Cultural Program – NVC Theater Arts Guild;
7. Most Outstanding Student Leader – Bryan Ray Solano; and
8. Most Outstanding Student Organization – NVC Supreme Students Council.

The awardees received a P1,000.00 cash and plaque each. The prizes were distributed to the awardees by Atty. Allen S. Quimpo, NVC president, Mrs. Lilian Q. Tirol, NVC Treasurer, dean Rebecca T. Barrios of student’s affairs, and Dr. Ambrosio R. Villorente.

Dean Rebecca T. Barrios gave the opening message. Atty. Allen S. Quimpo delivered the inspirational message. Ms. Emelyn B. Quimpo, Principal of Basic Education Department gave the award categories. She also gave the criteria of the awards.

For entertainment, a Chinese Song “Ping Yo” was rendered by Don J Ven Cauilan.

Memory was also sang by Sofia Pasag and Kim Lucerio. A Chinese dance was performed by NVC High School students.

Mr. Bryan Ray Solano, president, NVC Supreme Student Council, in behalf of the students sincerely thanked the NVC board of directors, management, faculty, and administrative staff for recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of the students. Solano also gave the remarks to close the program.
