Picture above shows some 300 of the more than 4,000 depositors of the Rural Bank of Balete (Aklan) Inc., Kalibo Branch attending the briefing held on Saturday afternoon, August 25, presided by team leader of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC). The briefing was held in CSQ Gym, Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan.
The briefing was about how the depositors of the Balete Rural Bank can claim and get their money back deposited with the said bank which was placed under receivership by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas effective on Friday, August 17, 2012. The said bank has never ran out of cash. The bank continously did regular bank services but it was closed because its asset is less than its liabilities.
