LGU Aklan Pays Employees P24.028M Salary Increases

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Aklan under Vice Governor Gabrielle V. Calizo-Quimpo has authorized Gov. Carlito S. Marquez to grant provincial government officials and employees salary increases in accordance with Local Budget Circular (LBC) No. 99 dated May 25, 2012.

LBC No.99 sets the increased salary scale of local government officials and employees under the Fourth Tranche Monthly Salary Schedule of Local Governments.

In an Appropriation Ordinance No. 2013-001 passed during its 17th Regular Session on May 29, 2013, the Aklan SP officially adopted for implementation the said budget circular and appropriated P4.209 million from salary savings during the first five months of 2013 to augment the lump sum appropriation of P19.818 million already provided for in the 2013 provincial budgets.

The salary differentials to be granted the provincial officials and employees cover January to May this year totals P24.028 million, P13.907 million under the general fund and P10.121 million under the economic enterprise development department.

Under Marquez’ administration, the annual tranches of salary increases mandated by the Salary Standardization Law is religiously implemented and benefitted capitol employees.

The number of provincial government personnel of Aklan is 719 under the general fund and 618 under the EEDD.

LGU Aklan has also a total of 1188 job order employees. /MP
