The League of the Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) will hold its 46th National Assembly to be held at Boracay Regency Beach Resort, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan on February 16-19, 2011.
The assembly will complete the 3rd Module of Diploma Course in Development Legislation and Governance of the vice governors being conducted by the Development Academy of the Philippines, reported Richie D. Oloroso of the Vice Governor’s office, Kalibo, Aklan.
The program aims to further capacitate the Vice Governors and make them strategic leaders with the knowledge and skills of Peace Builders, Development Instigators, Policy Makers, People’s Partners and Change Advocates.
Vice Governor Gabrielle V. Calizo-Quimpo stressed that crafting, passing, and steering of legislation proceeding of every Vice Governor is not enough even though it is their primary task. It is a process of inevitability to practice his/her role to be part of the development process and institute changes.
This national assembly in Boracay is realized through the initiative of the League of the Vice Governors of the Philippines under the new leadership of Vice Gov. Leonides M. Fausto, National President for the year 2010 – 2013 with the Aklan Vice Governor as National Treasurer. /MP
