Aklan SP Accredits Kool Earth


The Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved the accreditation of Kool Earth as Non-Government Organization (NGO) in the Province of Aklan during its 29th regular session on Sept. 8, 2011.


Kool Earth is environment advocate group allied with the Aklan Medical Society.


Kool Earth aims to have cleaner, greener and healthier environment. The organization is committed to support and promote programs for a healthier community.


It endeavors to educate the community on environmental concerns with the support of the law-enforcers, concerned groups, and committed individuals in the implementation of the law; to advocate policies, practices for the care, protection and conservation of the ecosystem with strong linkages, it will draw support from local, national and international organizations.


The Kool Earth Officers for 2010-2011 are as follows: Chita De La Cruz Heap-president; Felma Reloj-Dela Cruz, M.D.-vice president; Melrose "Megs" Lunn-secretary; Cynthia C. Dela Cruz, M.D.-treasurer/founder; Marilyn Alvarez-asst. sec./treas.; PO3 Julius Barrientos, Hon. Vince Navarosa and Raul Bautista – sgt-at-arms. Board of Directors: Oscar Hilario, M.D., Beatriz Yasa-Diel M. D., Myrtle Pelayo, M.D., (RET) COL. Hamish M. Adams, Shirley A. Regalado, Roberto Regalado and Editha I. De Lemos.


Mr. Guidon Dela Cruz, Ms. Vicky Ramos-Antonino, Mr. Carl Herson Alvarez, Engr. Winston Carrillo, Dr. Remedios Gammad Mrs. Clarita Fernandez, Mrs. Luz Marte-Reloj and Mr. Antonio Sarabia – consultants.


The accreditation of Kool Earth followed after a thorough review of the requirements by the Committee on Non-Government Organization chaired by the Hon. Jonna Morales Torres with Hon. Jean T. Rodriguez and Hon. Raymar A. Rebaldo – members. /MP
