Earlier, World-Vision conducted the Iloilo Barangay Children’s Association Leaders Con-sultation and Facilitation Workshop for Child Health Now! Children’s Assembly, last August 29 – 30 which was attended by some 35 youth leaders of Iloilo.

Ma. Joane Corbe, Child Health Now! Coordinator said the workshop aims to encourage youth to take up an active part in community projects especially on their health needs and concerns. She also said that it is in preparation for the Child Health Now! Children’s Assembly.

Joshua Alfred Dela Cruz, 15, SK chairman of Brgy. Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo, one of the participants said that the workshop helped them identify the health problems of youth and children in their community. Likewise, they are helped by World Vision – Philippines to come up with solutions where the youth will implement within their capacity, particularly through the SK and with the support of their barangay officials.

The event is organized by the Rising Sun Association of Iloilo, Inc. (RSAI), and the local NGO partner of World Vision – Philippines in Iloilo. RSAI is also the event organizer of the Child Health Now! Children’s Assembly in the town of Estancia. (by LMCarnaje) /MP
