Aklan SP Confirms Two Department Heads’ Appointments


The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan has confirmed recently the appointments of two new department heads of the Provincial Government of Aklan after Gov. Carlito S. Marquez recommended their appointments to the legislative body for confirmation.

The SP confirmed as provincial government department head the appointment of Engr. Edelzon T. Magalit as the Provincial Engineer and head of the Provincial Engineer’s Office.

Magalit’s appointment as provincial engineer was confirmed during the 30th Regular Session of the August Body on September 5, 2012 as embodied in Resolution No. 2002-227.

Magalit, before his appointment as the provincial engineer, served as Assistant Provincial Engineer of Aklan since May 1, 1991. He was  appointed Provincial Engineer Vice Engr. Victory M. Fernandez who retired recently from the service.

Magalit is a graduate of Civil Engineering course in Aklan College in March 1981. He is a holder of a degree, Master in Public Administration since in 2002. He passed the Civil Engineering Board Examination on March 2, 1984 with a rating of 91.71 percent.

During the 32nd Regular  Session of the SP on September 19, 2012, the August Body likewise confirmed the appointment of Dr. Michael I. Terencio as Provincial Government Department Head of the Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD). Before his appointment, Terencio served as Assistant Provincial Government Department Head of the EEDD starting October 1, 2011. He was Medical Specialist ll, Ibajay District Hospital, Ibajay since July 1, 2001 and Medical Specialist ll, Dr. Rafeal S. Tumbukon Memorial Hospital, Kalibo since March 28, 2007.

His confirmation as Provincial Government Department Head is embodied in Resolution No. 2012-245. Dr. Terencio completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Fatima College of Medicine and his Masters Degree in Hospital Administration at the University of the Philippines, Manila in 2007. He passed the Physician Licensure Examination in September 1994 with a rating of 80 percent. /MP
