It cannot be denied. It is true. They are wealthy. They displayed their wealth to the envy of those who could not afford, and who have less in life.
The liberal party candidates for the provincial position in the Province of Aklan before filing their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the May 13, 2013 midterm election first heard holy mass at the St. John The Baptist Cathedral in Kalibo, Aklan. The mass over, from Pastrana Park, Poblacion, Kalibo they held a motorcade which ended at the Commission on Election (COMELEC) provincial office, Estancia, Kalibo where they filed their COCs on Friday morning, October 5, 2012.
The motorcade was led by Gov. Carlito S. Marquez, Cong. Florencio T. Miraflores, Kasangga Partylist Congressman Teodorico T. Haresco, Jr. and Vice Gov. Gabrielle V. Calizo-Quimpo.
Miraflores filed his COC for Governor of Aklan, Haresco for Congressman of the Lone District of Aklan and Calizo-Quimpo for Vice Governor of Aklan. Gov. Marquez is No. I nominee for congressman of Kasangga Partylist.
They were all dressed in yellow and loaded in highly expensive and luxurious vehicles. They were accompanied by their candidates for Mayors, Vice Mayors, members of the Sangguniang Bayan and other supporters.
The motorcade was led by several motorcycles which riders were also clad in yellow. Other supporters rode in well decorated tricycles with balloons.
The filing of COCs over, they proceeded to Cafe Latte for lunch.
The scheduled 2:00 o’clock pm press conference at Cafe Latte was cancelled without notice. Some members of the tri-media were indianed.
THE OPPOSITIONS
Can their opponents match their wealth? So far, their opponents displayed no wealth. They filed their COCs without any fanfare, even unnoticed. Will their opponents be able to sustain expensive election campaign /MP
