AMS Harvests Awards

The Aklan Medical Society (AMS) led by its president, Dr. Cynthia Dela Cruz has a huge haul of medals for the year 2006 – 2007 awarded by the Philippine Medical Association (PMA). The awards were given during the awards ceremony as one of the highlights of the PMA Annual Convention held recently in Manila.

Dr. Cynthia dela Cruz was awarded the Most Outstanding Physician for Component Societies. She is the incumbent president of the Aklan Medical Society and vice president of Kalantiao Toastmasters Club.
To qualify for the award, one must be a member in a component medical society for at least 5 years, has no pending case against the PMA.
The Aklan Medical Society was awarded as the Most Outstanding Component Medical Society, Category IV.
To qualify for this award, the medical society must have excellent coordination with PMA on nutrition activities, held scientific meetings, conducted public information and education activities and established feeding centers during the year.
Dr. Merlita Bautista got the Most Outstanding Medical Society Treasurer Award.
The Aklan Medical Society also walked away with the Most Active Component Society in Environmental and Sanitation Projects award.
This award is given to address the most prevalent problems in the country. It recognizes the component society which engages in a sanitation and environmental projects that provide great impact to the people, innovative, and it has mobilized the people in the community. /MP
