VP Binay Meets Local Leaders In Aklan









Vice President Jejomar C. Binay visited Aklan and held a dialogue with the local government officials of  Aklan and Senior Citizens. 

VP Binay arrived in Kalibo International Airport at about 10:30 in the morning, Thursday, June 7. His party which included former senator Ernesto Maceda, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, Congresswoman Mitos Magsaysay of the 1st District of Zambales, and former Cong. Rodolfo Plaza  of Agusan among others proceeded to Banga.

Binay and party were met at the KIA by Banga Mayor Antonio Maming, Makato Mayor Jun Legaspi, Numancia Mayor Adolfo Iligan, Banga Vice Mayor Joseph Pierre R. Teodosio among others.

In Banga, Vice Pres. Binay led in the ribbon cutting ceremony and blessing of the Senior Citizens Office located in one of the rooms in Teodosio Cultural and Sports Complex. Binay also observed the medical mission being held at Teodosio Cultural and Sports Complex in Banga which he sponsored.

Very Rev. Msgr. Jose E. Parohinog, Saint Joseph Parish Priest, Banga officiated the blessing of the Senior Citizens office. The improvement made in the Senior Citizens office was funded by Binay. After the blessing, he turned over the ceremonial key to Mayor Maming.

After the blessing and turn over ceremonies, Binay observed the medical mission being conducted among Senior Citizens of Banga. He then spoke in a short program where he introduced the members of his entourage and the objective of their trip to Aklan. He promised to complete the construction of the Teodosio Cultural and Sports Complex in Banga.

From Banga, Binay and party went to New Washington where they took their lunch, observed another medical mission for Senior Citizens. The lunch over, Binay and party went to Numancia where they were welcomed with a simple program by the Numancia  municipal officials and the Numanciahanons led by Mayor Adolfo Iligan. He also observed another medical mission in Numancia.

After Numancia, VP Binay proceeded to  Nabas, Aklan. 

The Vice President and party were warmly welcomed in Banga. School children lined up the streets from Linabuan Sur and along the route to the Teodosio Cultural and Sports Complex which was filled to its capacity of about 6,000 people. It was a fiesta atmosphere in Banga during the visit of VP Binay. /MP
