Governor’s Cup Is Unfinished, No Champion

The championship game between team Ibajay and team New Washington could not be played and therefore no champion is proclaimed for the Governor Carlito S. Marquez Cup 2007.
The first two games of the best of three of the championship games are split between Team Ibajay and Team New Washington. The first game went to team New Washington (90–80), while the second game went to team Ibajay (87–70) played in the afternoon of December 30. Due to insufficient time as a result of the flood during that week, the two teams failed to agree on the time to play the final and deciding third game.
However, except for the first runner–up, the third runner up was awarded to team Malay which received P10,000 cash and a trophy. Team Numancia won the second runner–up, P20,000 cash and trophy. The winner of the third game should have been the champion and the loser, the first runner up which could either be Ibajay or New Washington.
Alvin Ferrer of Team New Washington walked away with the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. The Rocky of the Year went to Conanan of Team Numancia, and the best player of the game went to Michael John Mangilog of Team Ibajay.
Selected the Mythical five (5) are 1. Best Guards Alvin Ferrer of New Washington and Bryan Islao of Ibajay; 2. Best Forward–Orlando Talabucon of New Washington and Saavedra of Malay, and 3. Best Center–Jr. Manuel of Ibajay. /MP
