A complete unit of Kuliglig or hand tractor was donated to a farmers’ cooperative last week. The turn over was held at Brgy. Linabuan Norte’s Social Hall, Kalibo.

Public Relations Officer, Tisza Pador-Maravilla, handed out a unit of Kuliglig or hand tractor with its plow and rake attachments.

Present in the handover is Mayor Raymar Rebaldo, SB member E. Soviet Russia Dela Cruz, Linabuan Norte Brgy. Capt. Lucas Francisco, Primo Ibesate – OIC-MAO, Officers and Members of the farmers’ cooperative.

In return, the local government of Kalibo awarded a certificate of appreciation to Maravilla and the association President, Beato Dela Cruz, who is represented by his brother Guidon Dela Cruz, the CEO of a Kalibo-based food franchise company.

He explained to the coop members that the Kuliglig is being lent and its maintenance monitored to avoid the usual state of donated farm implements that usually end up in the hands of a private person or its parts divided among few people.

Rebaldo told the cooperative that the Kuliglig should be used to ease down the hardships of farming through tech-nology to accelerate the continuing rehabilitation of the capital town of Aklan. (by TERENCE TORIANO) /MP
