In a luncheon press conference held on Monday, Jan. 26, members of the Aklan media present expressed their unanimous congratulations for the peaceful and successful holding of the 2009 Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Festival on January 12 – 18, 2009. Except for some minor disorders which may happen anytime, anywhere, no major disorders occurred.

The Aklan PNP and the KAMB were sincerely congratulated.

However, there were some minor shortcomings the Aklan press members noted in the conduct of the religious procession held in the afternoon of Sunday, Jan. 18. There were also negative remarks on the conduct of "paeapak".

Rev. Fr. Joesel Quan assured the media, his group will discuss the matter with the view to improve it next year.

On the religious procession, observations were made as to the slowness of the religious procession because of the continuing "sadsad" on the streets and the gap which existed between and among the procession participants. Fr. Quan and Mayor Rebaldo vowed to institute remedial measures to eliminate the causes next year. /MP

Hello,

Does this mean that if an event management company pays KAMB at least P700K to get the exclusive rights to host the annual Ati Atihan, subject to agreed norms, it is beneficial to the Municipality of Kalibo?
