Sulong Kabataan Leadership Awardees

Roxas City – during the State of the Youth Address of the Sanggunian Kabataan Federation president Katrina Barrios of Roxas City recently this year held at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center, some outstanding student leaders from different schools were recipients of SULONG Kabataan Leadership Awards. They are members of Sangguniang Kabataan.

Among them are Janwen C. Gaspar, 4th year college student of Filamer Christian College. He is Bachelor of Science in Political Science student. He was president of Political Science Students Organi-zation; representative of FCC Student Republic; member, Ten Outstanding Students of FFC; Press Relations Officer, United Presidents League; PRO, Rotaract Club of Metro-Roxas; Press Relations Officer–Kabataang Pangaran ni Rizal, Co-Coordinator-Mass Mobilization for Cleanliness, Beautification and Management Team, Assoc-Editor-The Filamerian 2010.

Windion G. Sarmiento, 4th year Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management student at Hercor College; he was Editor-in-Chief of Hercor Gazette; member – Student Cultural Exchange Program, USA; member – HERCOR Soldier of Jesus Christ, a consistent dean’s lister and academic awardee.

Zinette Dene D. Buenvenida, 2nd year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy student of College of St. John Roxas; former president College Student Government; Female Youth Leader. Basic Ecclesial Community; Writer, Zenith Pulication; member, Council of Student Accountants; member, Capiz Federation – Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants; board member, Catholic Edu-cational Association of the Philippine VI – Student Congress; Election Volunteer, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting.

Ma. Katarina Fuentes, 4th year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student of St. Anthony College of Roxas City; president, Student Council Organization. vice president, Society of St. Vincent de Paul; member, St. Anthony College of Roxas HIV/AIDS Educators (SACRHAE); participated in SCO tree planting activity in Banica; SCO Oplan Linis Baybay; and SCO Community Outreach Program.

Fercel A. De Guzman, 4th year Bachelor of Elementary Education student of Capiz State University; president, Barangay Disaster Action Team; community representative, Red Cross Youth; Cum Laude, Capiz State University, Dayao Campus (2010); Researcher of the Year (2010); Service Awardee of the Philippine National Red Cross (2010); Best Demonstrator of the Year (2010); Best Presentor of the Year (2010); Dean’s Lister (2009).

April Leecel Arsioga, 4th year Bachelor of Science in Criminology student of Capiz State University, Dayao Campus; president, Supreme Student Council; finished advance ROTC Officership course; attended several civic trainings of the organization.

Jazzmin Marie R. Blasurca, 4th year High School Student of St. Mary’s Academy of Capiz; president, SMAC Student Council; president, SMAC Mother Ignacio Club; president, SMAC Science Club; Auditor-Capiz Division Student Govern-ment; class president, IV-OLIC; member, Philippine National Red Cross organization (Capiz Chapter); awarded as Most Promising Red Cross Youth Member during the Capiz Red Cross Youth Summer Camp on April 19-26, 2009; Conducted an Outreach Activity among the Parents of SMAC’s Adopted Community (Sitio Terel, Tanque, Roxas City).

Angie Reliente, 3rd year High School student of Milibili National High School; president, Supreme Student Government (SSG); Elementary Valedictorian; champion in District Math Quiz Bee; 3rd place in Division Schools Press Conference; 5th place in Regional Schools Press Conference (Editorial Writing); consistent 1st honor student since 1st year high school; a declaimer, campus journalist, scholar of Silver & Gold Foundation.

Janela Arcangeles, 4th year High School student of Tanque National High School; vice president, Supreme Student Govern-ment; executive vice president for Internal Affairs – Youth for Christ; facilitator, Red Cross Youth council; member, Barkada Kontra Droga; participant National Quiz Be; participant, Regional YES-O; choir member.

Julie Ann B. Delfin, 3rd year High School student of Bago National High School; president, Supreme Student Government; trainer – Barkada Kontra Droga; 1st runner-up in Student Technology and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines (STEP); 2nd place in 2009 Division Cultural Contest; Scholar of Mr. Mark Ortiz since 1st year high school.

Marielle Maye A. Gulmatico, 4th year High School student of Roxas City School for Philippine Craftsmen; president, Supreme Student Government; chairperson, Barangay Youth Club (Lanot); Peer Educator, Katin-aran; helped in organizing Brgy. Lanot Fiesta; organized feeding program in community; submitted resolutions for enhancing offices in school; elections and financial assistance for contest participants; organized beautification and cleanliness drive for the community; conducted sessions regarding drug abuse held at Brgy. Banica.

Catherine Borreros, 4th year High School student of Congressman Ramon A.
