ASU Holds Orientation For New Students


Aklan State University (ASU) held its orientation program for new students of the graduate studies. It was held at the amphitheater, Banga, Aklan in the morning of Saturday last week. It was attended by all graduate schools students of all ASU campuses in New Washington, Kalibo, Ibajay, Makato and Banga.
Dr. Ersyl T. Biray, vice president for academic affairs gave the rationale of the orientation program. The faculty and students from each ASU campuses were presented by the respective deans. Dr. Biray also discussed graduate school policies with Dr. Cecile O. Legaspi, dean of the school of management sciences.
Dr. Roberto L. Saladar vice president for research & extension explained what is ASU "Research Direction". He specifically discussed the Research and Development Extension and Information & Communications Technology (RDETICT) Framework.
As part of the orientation, a holy mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jude Isidro A. Rebaldo. He belongs to Master of Public Administration Class 2004 of ASU. In his homily, Rev. Fr. Rebaldo strongly stressed the importance of education in the daily life of every person. According to him, information is dynamic which changes every minute. Hence, "education is life.
