Senior Citizen Emelio T. Terencio, the father of Brgy. Aglucay will extend his services to the reduction of the volume of solid waste. He will introduce the love of nature, the practice of ecological balance and promote strong family relationship at neighboring barangays of Cayangwan, Makato, Aklan.
He decided to allow his son get out of government service and to privately spend time to guide townmates who lost links to Mother Earth. Terencio wants to keep them aware of their role in taking care of the environment to save the dwindling biodiversity and prevent destruction of natural ecosystem.
He is coordinating with the offices of the Municipal Agricultural Services and Municipal Social Welfare Development to harmonize the thrust and programs in food production and social welfare development of Makato.
He strongly promotes the interest of many farmers as well as the youth to actively participate and practice Natural Farming System (NFS) to phase in appropriate technology for a sustainable agriculture. He is strongly supported by LGU-Makato headed by environment-friendly mayor, Hon. Ramon S. Legaspi, Jr. on the conduct of NFS seminars/trainings of farmers of Makato. He has adopted multi-cropping system of farming with NFS technology. He plans to include in his farm the 15 herbs as sources of organic fertilizer and pesticide. /MP
