Gov. Carlito S. Marquez and Rep. Joeben T. Miraflores led dozens of local officials in giving their full backing to Lakas Kampi CMD standard bearer Gibo Teodoro, saying that he is the "most qualified presidentiable" among the current batch of presidential candidates.

Their support was announced during a forum on Monday at the ABL Sports Complex during a multi-sectoral forum organized by the Kasangga partylist.

Aside from the Aklan governor and congressman of the lone district of Aklan, Presidential Assistant for Western Visayas Raul Banias said that 12 of Aklan’s 17 mayors have also declared their full support for Gibo.

These are the mayors in the municipalities of Altavas, Banga, Batan, Buruanga, Ibajay, Lezo, Libacao, Madalag, Nabas, New Washington, Numancia, and Tangalan. (The mayors of Balete, Malay, Malinao, Makato, and Kalibo support other presidential candidates.)

"Both Gov. Marquez and Cong. Miraflores held Gibo with high regards, admiring his accomplishments, education, and his concrete plans for the
country," said Banias.

Aside from the forum, Gibo also graced the opening of the West Visayas Association Athletic Meet in the Municipality of Makato. He visited the campuses of Aklan State University, Aklan Catholic College , and Aklan Polytechnic College.

Banias said that during those visits, Aklanons who came to see Gibo, most especially the students, received him with warm reception and were at awe of his intelligence and youthfulness.

GIBO 2010 media bureau director, lawyer Mike Toledo said, "the warm welcome accorded Gibo in Aklan is the latest proof of the ever growing support for Gibo from across the country."

"What we saw in Aklan gives us confidence that Gibo’s ratings in surveys will continue to surge," said Toledo , who is also Gibo’s spokesman. "He has been continuously gaining the public’s confidence, especially after they hear about his impressive credentials and his proposed platform of government for the country." /MP
