PRC Aklan Schedules Biennial Assembly


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Aklan Chapter will hold its 27th Chapter Biennial Assembly on August 27, 2010. It will be held in ACP Centerpoint, Arch. Gabriel Reyes St., Kalibo, Aklan. Atty. Ronquillo C. Tolentino, chapter chairman relayed the information.

The holding of the chapter Biennial Assembly is in accordance with the Standard Chapter By-laws. It is also approved by the PRC Board of Directors, Aklan chapter during its meeting held on April 30, 2010, said Mr. Arcely P. Pelayo – chapter administrator.

Prior to the holding of the assembly on August 27, there will be an Orientation Program on Friday, August 20. This Orientation will be handled by a member of the Board of Governors. This is in preparation for the chapter Biennial Assembly on Aug. 27.

Former Sen. Richard J. Gordon, chairman, and chief executive officer, PRC is invited to give the keynote address.

Gov. Carlito S. Marquez-honorary chairman, PRC, Aklan chapter is likewise invited and deliver his message. Ms. Ma. Gwendolyn T. Pang – secretary general, PRC will also deliver her message. Dr. Charmaine Ling P. Chua will read the seven (7) Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross. Engr. Victory M. Fernandez will present the delegates who are volunteer officers and members of the PRC.

Dr. Ambrosio R. Villorente, vice chairman, PRC Aklan chapter will welcome the honorable guests and participants.

Dr. Victorina S. Laroza – PRC Aklan director will introduce the keynote speaker, Hon. Richard J. Gordon.

Ms. Remia H. Donguines – PRC Aklan director will give the Treasurer’s Report.

Election

One of the highlights of the assembly is the election of seven (7) members of the Board of Directors, PRC Aklan chapter. The election will be managed by Mr. Ernesto F. Melgarejo – chairman, nomination and election committee.

Atty. Plaridel M. Morania will proclaim the newly elected members of the Board of Directors. Hon. Richard J. Gordon will administer their Oath of Office in the afternoon.
At present, there are 18 members of the Board of Directors, four (4) of whom are mandated while 14 are elected.

The elected members are Atty. Ronquillo C. Tolentino, Dr. Ambrosio R. Villorente, Ernesto F. Melgarejo, Remia H. Donguines, Sefalina D. Peralta, Atty. Plaridel M. Morania, Dr. Cynthia C. Dela Cruz, Vice Mayor Madeline R. Regalado, Atty. Tomas S. Raz, Engr. Victory M. Fernandez, Dr. Nilda B. Tambong, Hon. Daisy S. Briones, Augusto C. Tolentino, and the late Ramon C. Venus.

The mandated members are Dr. Victorina S. Laroza, Col. Henry Dar, Engr. Roberto J. Cabigas, and Charmaine Ling P. Chua. /MP
