Rotarians and Journalists To Honor Haresco

Teodorico Tumbokon Haresco, Jr. will be honored in a Testimonial Dinner at 7:00 o’clock in the evening, Sunday, October 8 2006. The occasion is jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Kalibo and Aklan Press Club, Inc. It will be held in Sampaguita Gardens Resort, New Washington, Aklan.
During the said occasion, the Rotary Club of Kalibo will award the "International Business Leadership Award" led by its president, Gus Solmirano while the Aklan Press Club, Inc. will award the "Golden Press Award for Exemplary Business Leadership" led by its OIC president Edwin Pelayo.
The Rotary Club of Kalibo awards the "International Business Leadership" to an individual in recognition of his unsurpassed and legendary contribution to Philippine economic development, which in Haresco’s case, is in packaging the President’s Bridge Program and providing the most advantageous international financing for the same. Haresco is awarded for his commitment and dedication to the cause of the disadvantaged and marginalized sectors of our society; for his firm commitment to business with a social conscience; for his advocacy to promote micro-entrepreneurship as the backbone of our economy and develop self-reliance among our people; and for his staunch leadership in upholding the principles and tenets of Rotary.
The Aklan Press Club Awards the "Golden Press For Exemplary Business Leadership" to an individual in sincere recognition of his exemplary business leadership which, in the case of Teodorico T. Haresco,
Jr. is best exemplified, in his global outlook in making monumental contribution to our national economic development. Haresco is also recognized for his role model as benefactor of Kasangga sa Kaunlaran: for his steadfast commitment to develop micro-entrepreneurship as backbone of our rural economy; for his firm resolve that business must have a strong matrix of social conscience; for his untiring support of various projects and institutions in Aklan and elsewhere; and for his abiding leadership in defense of the freedom of the press.
Haresco, because of his exemplary business performance, is dubbed "business leader with global outlook entrepreneur with social conscience, advocate of micro entrepreneurship as backbone of rural economy"
Teodorico T. Haresco, Jr. is a native of Ibajay, Aklan. His father was the late Col. Teodorico Haresco, Sr. and his mother was the late Atty. Razon Tumbokon. Teodorico, Jr. studied in De La Salle College where he finished his elementary, high school and AB Economics and BS Accounting. He also finished Master of Arts in International Economics at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
During the award ceremonies, Hon. Edsel T. Custodio will give the keynote speech. Custodio is the present undersecretary of Foreign Affairs and former ambassador to the world trade organization. Mr. Odon S. Bandiola, past president of APC will introduce him.
Governor Carlito S. Marquez will deliver his message while testimonial speeches will be given by Judge Niovady M. Marin, former assemblyman Jose Tumbokon, Congressman Joeben T. Miraflores. Vice Governor Ronquillo C. Tolentino will give the opening remarks.
RC Kalibo president August o Solmirano will present the International Business Leadership Award and OIC President, APC Edwin Pelayo the Golden Press For Exemplary Business Leadership to the honoree, Mr. Teodorico T. Haresco, Jr. Solmirano and Pelayo will also present plaque of appreciation to the keynote speaker, Hon. Edsel T. Custodio.
