Sto. Niño Seminary (SNS) High School Batch 93 and Philosophy Batch 97 members known as the Lukan Legacy convened for the Feast Day of St. Luke at Tierra Vega Resto Bar, Kalibo after a Catholic Mass at 9:00 AM on October 18, 2009 where close to half of its members with their families attended.
Lukan Legacy held its meeting this year due to the alumni homecoming of the Santo Niño Seminary Alumni Association this January 13-14, 2009 in Numancia as one of the active participating batches in the alumni and with news that some of the members abroad plan to go home for both the alumni and the Ati-Atihan Festival on January 11-17, 2010.
Although some of the members of Lukan Legacy are abroad, most have chosen their permanent homes in Kalibo. They are either employed in private companies or run their own businesses. Others chose to be civil servants.
Jorge Gabriel Sarabia, the batch’s coordinator, pointed out that Lukan Legacy are in the forefront of service with most members if not all are involved in civic organizations such as Kiwanis while others are in the government like Mark Quimpo who is a member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo. He plans to be a candidate for Mayor of Kalibo under the ticket of Tibyog it Akean.
Batch 93 and 97 took its name from the Gospel writer, St. Luke, during their studies at the Sto. Niño Seminary, they had produced six priests, businessmen, an SB member, media personalities, a fastfood manager, bankers, a certified public accountant, military consultant, medical doctors, teachers, and computer programmers and specialists. /MP
