All Lands Is Productive, But Unproductive Person

"There is no unproductive land, only unproductive farmer", Mr. Ramon Peñalosa pointed out. Mr. Peñalosa was a discussion leader during the forum on "Vermicasting and Organic Farming: The New Way To Live in the 21st Century.
The forum was held on Thursday, September 7 in the 2nd Floor, Numancia Municipal Building, Numancia, Aklan sponsored by Numancia Vermicast Producers Multi–Purpose Cooperative (NVPMPC). They are assisted by LGU-Numancia, DTI – Aklan and LGU-Aklan.
The one day forum was opened with the invocation led by Ms. Elverita T. Templonuevo, vice chair of NVPMPC, Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas by Liberty R. Tapican, NVPMPC chairperson. Racel M. Gomez welcomed the guests and participants among whom were former vice governor Jean O. Rodriguez and Ms. Anna India Dela Cruz Legaspi of piña fiber industry.
Aklan Provincial DTI Director Ermelinda P. Pollentes gave the overview of the One Town, One Product. Numancia Mayor Ernesto I. Templonuevo, in his message, gave the background and rationale of the organization of the NVPMPC and the Vermicast Production program in Numancia.
Cong–Gov. and Provincial Administrator Diego Luces represented Congressman Joeben Miraflores and Governor Carlito S. Marquez. Luces read the joint message of the governor and congressman in their behalf.
In his two hour presentation, Peñalosa showed to the forum participants the process to get a net income of one million pesos per year from a 2,500 square meters of land. Peñalosa started his presentation with a quotation from the bible. He said, "My people suffer because they lack knowledge."
With the use of a power point, Peñalosa showed his various projects on his 2,500 square meters land in Bacolod City suburb. With a very brief discussion of each image presented, he showed chicken, swine, quail projects. He showed vegetables such as pepper, broccoli, lettuce, tomato, squash, papaya. He showed them corn, paddy rice, and fish like tilapia. He showed the participants the several highly recommended methods of crops and livestock production he has been doing in his farm.
Peñalosa concluded his presentation of what he is doing with: 1. language of the soil, 2. language of the plants, 3. language of the seeds, and 4. language of the animals; and punctuated it with the power of prayers./MP mailto:madyaas_pen@yahoo.com
