It is a one year project designed to integrate population, health, environment, and livelihood into a single project.
It has a total project cost of P1,703,000. This amount will come from POPCOM central office – one (1) million pesos, POPCOM regional office – P455,000 and KASAMA – will share P223,000 which will be in the form of labor and material.
The launching program was held on Wednesday morning, January 11 at Bakhawan Eco Park, New Buswang, Kalibo which was attended by Provincial POPCOM directors from Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Guimaras, Antique, Capiz, and Aklan and barangay officials of New Buswang and Pook.
Atty. Allen S. Quimpo – chairman, KASAMA Inc. welcomed the visitors and guests. Regional Director Vicente Molejona gave the rationale of the program. He stressed the “Maragtas” and even the Madyaas Confederacy as very closely related to food, environment, population and livelihood. Molejona emphasized the “sugo” under the Madyaas Confederacy like “Do not steal and do not kill”. He told “Adan was tempted to eat the apple so that he will become God as instigated by a devil.
The eating of the apple is not bad but what is worst is the greed of power as to become God.” /MP
