W.A.T.C.H

A New Year’s Resolution

Please let me share with you the inspiration of this only word “WATCH” I remember last Christmas homilies. Hopefully, it will guide us this year 2012. Here they are:

W - Watch your WORDS. Once uttered without second thought, it could “kill” a person. It could ruin her whole life and she would hate the whole world. Anger is a condition in which the tongue works faster than mind. Words are meant to inspire, to motivate, to inform, to educate and to love. When others verbally attack you, how should you respond? Remember that though you cannot control what others say, you certainly can control what you say about others. Let your words be seasoned with grace. Never allow corrupt words to come out of your mouth. A major part of self-control is tongue-control.

A - Watch your ACTION. Smile is an action which makes everything works faster except the tongue. On the other hand, once you ask, you must take action in order for it to happen. The bible said, faith and action go together. But be careful with what you ask for, at the end of the day, you are the one to act for it to make it happen. Also, faith leads us beyond ourselves, while action speaks louder than words.

T - Watch how you TREAT people. Adversity tells you who your real friends are, but success identifies genuine friends more securely. Bette Midler once said, “The worst part of success is trying to find someone who is happy for you.” It is not easy for others to love winners. What kind of attitude do other people’s successes bring out from us? The golden rule will always prevail. “Do unto others what you would like others do unto you.”

C- Watch how you CARE for people. To care for people is the grandest of all characters. However we should take it easy when we care too much. Too motherly to those who are independent would create wrong interpretations to them. Too little and too much should be weighed in because it could either create or damage a relationship.

H - Watch your HEART. Watch your heart that you sleep well at night. Make sure that there are no grudges, no heartaches and no selflessness. Watch your heart that what flows in it is only love, no more no less. And for everything that we do – LET GOD.

For whatever that we can’t decide for ourselves, God will surely fill it up for us. However many blessings we expect from God this New Year, His infinite liberality will always exceed all our wishes and our thoughts. And always remember, the more you are humble, the less you trip and tumble. The less your ego needs praise, the more your spirit receives grace. Have a blessed NEW YEAR 2012!!!/ MP
